Due to developing carpal tunnel syndrome, updates are currently Monday every three weeks. I'll get back to updating every other week when I can.
I'd really like to make a page each week, but I also have health problems with my hands and as such am not fast enough art-wise to manage it. If you want to be notified when new pages are put up, you can also follow me on deviantart, twitter or tapastic.
A fan comic of Avatar the last airbender, about Kyoshi's discovery that she's the Avatar, and her first challenge: saving the earth kingdom from a war between Chin and the Earth king - something she's entirely not ready for.
A couple things I should mention: this comic is a place were I can simply experiment, have fun, and learn. Therefore, the style is probably going to be inconsistent. I also can't manage color all the time because of how long it takes, so color will be reserved for certain sections.
Also, Kyoshi might seem a little different than you would expect at the beginning of the story. That's on purpose. We know her as a powerful warrior, but I think that's probably not what she started out as, but rather what she became. This is the story of how that happens.
I'm currently unable to put the kind of hours I want to into the creation of this comic. Temporarily I'm making the pages more with an emphasis on speed rather than quality because of it.
I'm unhappy with how a lot of this page came out, though, and going from color to b/w... argh. I think I'm going back to color for the next page. I'll try to find other ways of optimizing the creation of these pages instead.
So I've been trying, but it's become readily apparent that I can't draw right now. The truth is I managed to hurt myself and currently can't manage any sort of decent position for drawing in. I thought I could manage somehow, but it's just not working. If you think the previous page looked fine drawing wise, that's because it was almost entirely drawn before I hurt myself.
I'm so pissed, I barely even started the comic and I have to take a break from it already. :(
If you're on deviantart, you can watch me at http://amirai.deviantart.com to know when I get started again. Until then, I'm sorry about the delay. From the pace of things, it might be months before new pages show up, but I've really got to put healing first.
@Andy Nomus: no. This comic is partially a place to experiment and learn how to make comics, As much as I'd like to color every page, it's just too time-consuming with my current skill level and the problems I have with my hands, so I'm just coloring the ones that would benefit the most from it.
